Bonnington Apartment
This is a small 2nd /top floor apartment overlooking the Water of Leith and is a perfect base for a couple or friends looking to enjoy a low cost city break in Edinburgh or to visit Edinburgh during the festival. Please see the sleeping arrangements for further details.
Just outside the city centre and around a 25 minute walk to Princes Street. Edinburgh has an excellent choice of buses. A day saver ticket is currently £4 and you can hop on and off Lothian Region buses all day long. There is a bus stop opposite the apartment in Newhaven Road and the number 11 bus will take you into the city centre.
The flat is just minutes from the Water of Leith Path, which takes you along the river to the Royal Botanic Gardens, and beyond to Stockbridge* which is such a gorgeous place to feel part of a little friendly village with exciting shops, bistros and award winning restaurants. There are many bars and a Sunday market which is a must see. In the opposite direction along the Path is Leith, with all its amenities. The path is great for scenic walks/cycling or running routes.
From the window in the bedroom there is a great view of the whole of the classic Edinburgh skyline, from Arthur's Seat all the way across to the western edge of the Pentlands and beyond. The view of the castle is superb. On a clear day and when it is lit up at night the view is just breathtaking. If you are lucky to be staying here during the firework display at the castle, you will be able to watch it from the window.
There is a fantastic array of shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs in the city centre; however, should you wish to cook in the apartment, there is a small kitchen, and the living room has a drop-leaf coffee table that you can sit at.
Please note there is no TV in the apartment but after a busy day sight seeing you can simply relax and enjoy the view. Or if you want to watch TV on your laptop you can do this as we have free WIFI in the apartment.
Outside the apartment is a drying area should you wish to hang out washing.
