The Wee Thistle, Grassmarket

Had a great stay at the Wee Thistle. Apartment has every thing you could need, was spotless and in the best location for exploring Edinburgh. Will definitely be staying again. Thanks Gavin, great host!

What a great little home from home. Equipped with everything we could possibly need, comfortable beds and lovely welcome of wine and shortbread. Been to the fringe many times over the past 45 years. This was the best!

This is a great apartment in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh and attending festival events. Loved it. The apartment was clean and well equipped, and the beds were super comfortable. Communication was excellent and the instructions for arrival were detailed and easy to follow. Gavin went over and above too, by hand delivering some trousers my brother-in-law left behind. Will happily book again and/or recommend.

Gavin and his dad are great hosts!! They were very helpful and friendly. Super prompt to help out which makes our stay a wonderful one!! Plus, prime location gives access to all tourist sites in and around the City Centre!

Gavin's place is perfect - right smack in the middle of Edinburgh, extremely cosy, clean and well equipped, and possibly has one of the comfiest beds ever. Gavin is also extremely proactive, kind, and fast in his response. I was running late to check out due to delays at the car rental place, and he was ever so understanding. I cannot recommend Gavin's place enough, and I will certainly return if I ever find myself back in Edinburgh. Thank you for making the start of our holiday so pleasant!

A completely fabulous place to stay in the heart of old town Edinburgh! Clean and new and highly recommended. So close to so many must see sites and things to do! You should definitely stay here!

If you are looking for a place in Edinburgh, this is THE place where to stay. Great location, flat super clean, comfortable, extremely well equipped: you even have special tweezers to take the toast out of the toaster! :) . Fantastic, prompt and easy communication with Gavin who is always happy to help. Simply perfect and impossible to beat.

This flat was everything we hoped and dreamed for. The location was perfect, it is decorated beautifully and it is so accommodating! Gavin is very easy to communicate with and the flat is spectacular. If I ever find myself in Edinburgh again, I would stay there in a heartbeat.

Fantastic apartment in the heart of Edinburgh. We had everything that we needed in the apartment, was very comfy and cosy and felt like home for the week. Particularly liked the wine and box of biccys, these went down a treat after a long days walking and travelling. The apartment was so clean and perfect.

This secure apartment is in a fabulous location. It's is beautifully set out, with everything you would need and more! We did not get to meet Alex and Gavin in person but they provided detailed instructions and thoughtful communication. They came across as very friendly and could not have done more to have not only made us feel welcome but very much at home. The small touches were not unnoticed and the quality bedding, towels and so much more made for a very comfortable stay. We would highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning X

Alex made us feel very welcome and the apartment was very clean with a fabulous location. My parents had the bedroom and we slept on the sofa bed which was very comfortable in the lounge. We did the park and ride which I would recommend as there is little parking in Edinburgh especially during the Fringe. Thank you Alex.

Lovely flat big enough for a couple. fantastic position. it was fantastic to have a view of Edinburgh castle as you enter the block. very clean. thoughtfully kitted. we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed five nights at 'The Wee Thistle' and had a wonderful time. We loved the location and the apartment had everything we needed. Alex was very helpful getting us into the apartment, she contacted us several times in the days before our arrival, giving us detailed directions on how to find the apartment and park for it (which was a little tricky because of the fringe festival). The location of the apartment is the best thing - it's very near to Grassmarket and the Royal Mile and has a ton of restaurants and neat shops nearby. The apartment is very clean and well organized, and Alex provided some nice welcome gifts to help us get settled. It is a little cozy compared to some of the other places we have stayed throughout Scotland, but it's very liveable.
