  • Canal View Cottage

    Ideally placed for exploring both Edinburgh and Glasgow, Canal View Cottage is a delightful self-catering bungalow situated on the Union Canal in Winchburgh. This up-and-coming town is located around 10 miles west of the city centre of Edinburgh and has a fantastic travel network to the capital with the 38X bus route as well as the Park and Ride service from Ingliston. The 600 bus route also connects the property to Edinburgh Airport.

    During your stay why not explore the local area, with Niddry Castle Golf Club a short journey away. Guests can also explore the Union Canal, with relaxing walks or boat trips from Port Buchan in nearby Broxburn. Further afield you will also find the historic sites of Linlithgow, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, Stirling and the beautiful Kelpies.

    You will feel straight at home at Canal View Cottage, which accommodates up to 3 guests. The open plan living room and kitchen will be the ideal spot to rest in the evenings after a day of walking, golfing or sightseeing, with reclining leather sofas and a wall-mounted smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering break, with a fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. When you are ready to eat the coffee table converts into a dining table, with foldable chairs for guests to sit on.

    When you are ready to turn in for the night there is a master bedroom, with a king size bed and wall-mounted TV. From this bedroom there are also French doors onto the patio. There is also a second bedroom with a small double bed, suitable for one guest. The bungalow also offers a family bathroom, featuring a walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin.

    Please note we do not provide hypoallergenic bedding at our properties.

    This property also features free WiFi and electric heating, as well as free on-street parking. Guests also have access to the patio and garden, which is shared with the main house, in addition to garden furniture for al fresco dining on warmer days. There is added security with CCTV at the property.

    *Please note that, while works are being carried out in the garden, access to the patio and garden furniture may be restricted. These works will not interfere with guests' stay.*

    This property operates a key safe, so you can let yourself into the property any time after 16:00. The key safe code will be issued before your arrival.

    Entry to the apartment is from 16:00 onwards; Earlier entry can perhaps be arranged but depends if there is a departure at your chosen apartment that day. This can be confirmed within 48 hours of arrival. If you are arriving earlier than 16:00 on your day of arrival, it is always worth contacting the property manager as they will always endeavour to give you access as soon as possible. You may be able to arrive early and leave luggage and come back however this is not guaranteed.

    The latest departure time is 11:00, however, a guaranteed later departure (up to 20:00) can be arranged for a fee of 50% of the daily rate for that day but please note this is subject to no existing booking arriving that day already.

    Please note all guests are required to pay a £200 damage deposit 7 days directly with us before arrival. Your deposit will be held during your stay and refunded 5 days after departure, subject to an inspection of the property.

    Kick back and relax at Kingswood, a stylish, modern villa that’s a fantastic base for exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area. This 2-bedroom property is architect-designed and Edinburgh's only certified eco-friendly ‘Passive House’, set in woodlands and a large private garden. The property is located 15 minutes from Edinburgh Airport, and a 5-minute walk from a frequent bus service to Edinburgh city centre (20 minutes journey time).

    4 guests sleep comfortably at Kingswood in two, lower-floor bedrooms. The master bedroom holds a king-size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds and ample storage. Kingswood also has a bathroom, with wash basin and bath, and a separate shower room, with two wash basins and walk-in shower. An additional 2 guests can be accommodated in two single camp beds in the study.

    On the lower floor is also a media room, with smart TV, and a utility room with a washing machine. The property also has central heating and complementary WiFi.

    On the upper floor is a large, open-plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, perfect for enjoying a family holiday in Edinburgh. A comfortable seating area, fully equipped kitchen and dining table ensure a relaxing self-catering break for all, whether you are staying with family or friends.

    Relax at the end of a day of sightseeing and enjoy the sunset with a drink on the large, enclosed terrace, accessed via sliding doors from the living area.

    Bookings made at this property require a £500 damage deposit, which will be due 7 days before check-in. Providing there are no deductions to be made from this, the payment will be refunded to your card 5-7 working days after departure.
