St Giles St, on Royal Mile, 200 metres from Edinburgh Castle



There are three options to get from Edinburgh airport to the city centre, all take approx 30-35 minutes. The main rail station Waverley is approx 250 metres from the apt.

1. Edinburgh trams, approx every 8-10 mins (Sunday 12-15 mins), right outside terminal, the nearest drop off point for the apt is the Princes St stop which is approx 350 metres away. Cost 8.50 pounds for adults and 4.50 pounds for children for a RETURN journey.

2. Airport express bus, every 15 minutes right outside terminal building, drop off point on Waverley Bridge approx 250 metres from Bank St. Costs 7.50 pounds per person for a RETURN journey.

3. Taxi, many can be found right outside the terminal building and will cost 15 - 20 pounds for a one way journey. However a taxi will drop you off right outside the property you have booked.


Street parking is enforced Mon Sat 08:00 - 18:30, it is expensive and inflexible as you can only stay in one spot for a few hours.

There are many city centre car parks to choose from, you can use these for a short time or full days which cost approx 16 - 20 pounds or more or enter the postcode of the property you have booked into this website

Alternatively if you do not plan your use your car much, (Edinburgh is a relatively small city centre and is much better explored on foot), leave your car in a well lit residential street outside the restricted city centre, the whole operation should take approx 30 minutes. Alternatively, the return journey in a taxi from an unrestricted area (approx 2.5 km) would be less than one days parking charges. Information on the best areas for this can be provided.

I have used ESC before and enjoyed the quality of their properties. A fantastic location, the 17th. century Stairmaster was expected as I knew what floor we were on! Convenient location for our bus tours and old town shopping. The meet and greet could have been a little more on time...waited for over an hour to be let in to our apartment. More information in the book would help us North Americans when it comes to running single unit washer/dryers and lighting the gas fireplace but other than that it was good. A broom & dustpan would have been helpful for our daily clean up, but all supplies & groceries were appreciated. Maybe a grocery store map could be included for stocking the fridge. Thanks again and I will recommend you to my friends and family for quality apartment rentals. Thanks Glenn


We had to wait over an hour for entry to our apartment when I had stated between 6 & 6:30, we arrived at 6:15 and it was after 7pm. before we got into the apartment. We were very obvious as we had Canada all over our suitcases and clothing but we had to ask him if he was there for ESC....maybe a jacket or card on a lanyard around his neck would have helped us identify you!

We had great service from Glenn at ESC, however dealing with "Sparkle Property Mgmt" was not pleasant at all. Not sure if they are part of ESC or not, don't remember dealing with them on past bookings, but we likely won't book again through ESC due to that experience.


We have stayed at this flat before and the location is fantastic, but the flat is getting a bit tired looking. Seems like it needs a really good scrub down.
Didn't find that the flat was well stocked for a week stay either (2 rolls of toilet paper and about 6 sheets of paper towel left!!)

This apartment is an absolute dream for a trip to Edinburgh. The view of St. Giles right outside your window, and the castle out another, is breathtaking! Walkable to absolutely everything. We would look out our window and people would look up at us in envy, it is that prime of a spot on the Royal Mile! The decorating in the apartment was beautiful and modern, but still felt classic in a classic old building. The stairs were a bit tiring but worth every step to be able to have a place this close to everything and SO beautiful! We slept soundly every night. Also loved that we could enjoy a nice fire in the fireplace! Would love to stay here again someday!
