Make the most of your visit to The Vaults in Leith by retiring at the end of the evening to your very own self-catering accommodation above our Members’ Rooms. The Society’s beautifully restored apartment in the historic Vaults building is now available to members and their guests, giving you the perfect place to rest your head or to use as a base when you come to explore Edinburgh.

This fully renovated apartment in The Vaults is in the heart of the historic port of Leith, a short walk from ‘the Shore’. As well as being home to The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, the area is bustling with Michelin Star restaurants, cosy bars, gastro pubs, cobbled quays and tourist attractions including the Royal Yacht Britannia.

The Vaults apartment sleeps four people in two bedrooms, one of which is a twin room and the other can be a double or twin. Please specify when booking.


Guests can also access a free broadband connection either through the supplied cable or by Wi-Fi.

Accommodation

LOUNGE

This room is beautifully appointed to create a cosy yet comfortable and functional living space. It has a leather sofa and 55 inch TV.

KITCHEN

Newly fitted, the kitchen is equipped with a fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, microwave oven, cutlery and crockery for up to six people.

MASTER BEDROOM (EN SUITE)

This bedroom contains a super king (6ft/1.82m wide) zip 'n' link double bed, with an en suite shower room with shower, sink, WC, floor to ceiling tiles and vanity unit. A good night’s sleep should be easy in this relaxing elegance.

We also have a travel cot available if needed for small visitors.

A large built-in wardrobe provides plenty of storage and hanging space.

BEDROOM TWO

This bedroom contains twin beds. A cupboard and wardrobe provide plenty of storage and hanging space.

MAIN SHOWER ROOM

Large walk-in rain shower with floor to ceiling tiles.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

* All gas & electricity costs are included in the rental. Gas central heating throughout.
* Linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly for longer rentals.
* Complimentary tea, coffee and milk are provided for your arrival.
* Ironing facilities and a hair dryer are provided.

Restrictions

* No smoking is allowed anywhere within the apartment.
* No pets.
* No parties.
* As this property has stairs it may be unsuitable for some people with disabilities.
* No lift is available.

Access Arrangements

A "meet and greet" service is operated , whereby you will be met at the property at a pre-arranged time to give access. Full instructions of this procedure can be found in the secure guest area after a booking has been completed. It is very important that an approximate arrival time is provided before arrival for this process. Entry is from 14:00 onwards but if nobody has booked to depart on your day of arrival it will probably be very suitable for us to give you entry as early as possible. Departure is by 10am (a guaranteed late departure up to 20:00 can be obtained for 50% of that daily rate. Please contact us if you want to utilise this facility and a price will be calculated).

Please note that arrivals after 19:00 will incur a range of late arrival fee.

**LATE ARRIVAL: fees, 19:00 - 22:30 - 15 pounds, 22:31 - 00:00 - 30 pounds and 00:01 - 02:00 - 50 pounds. The latest access can be given is 02:00, otherwise it is given at 08:00 the next day. ESC accept no liability for any costs involved in alternative accommodation for this 6 hour period.


A deposit of 25% is payable on booking and the outstanding balance of the rental price must be received 2 months prior to your arrival date. For bookings made less than eight weeks before your arrival date the whole rental price falls payable at the time of booking. Please note that a separate 200 pounds refundable key/security deposit must be provided prior to arrival. This is rescinded 5 days after departure.
