The Alva Street Residence is a lovely, 2 bedroom apartment in the West End, a short distance from all of Edinburgh's main sightseeing, shopping and dining. This is a lower level apartment, with it's own entrance and patio, forming part of a recently renovated Georgian townhouse.

The living area has comfortable leather sofas, flatscreen TV, and broadband WiFi. There is a modern kitchen with dining table, two double bedrooms (one king size bed, one double), a family bathroom with large bath and shower over, a further separate shower room, and WC and utility room.

The location is second to none, with Edinburgh's boutique eateries and shops in the local vicinity, as well as Princes Street, Stockbridge, The New Town and The Royal Mile all within easy walking distance.

Edinburgh Haymarket train station is a few minutes walk away, and Edinburgh Waverley train station only a little further.

Due to the external steps, this property may not be suitable for families with very young children.

A meet and greet service is provided, whereby you will be met at the property to be provided with keys and to be shown the property. Please arrange your arrival with the property manager.

Entry to the apartment is from 16:00 onwards; however, please note that arrivals after 19:00 may incur a late arrival fee of 15 pounds for unsociable hours. Earlier entry can perhaps be arranged but depends if there is a departure at your chosen apartment that day. This can be confirmed within 48 hours of arrival. If you are arriving earlier than 16:00 on your day of arrival, it is always worth contacting the property manager as they will always endeavour to give you access as soon as possible. You may be able to arrive early and leave luggage and come back however this is not guaranteed.

The latest departure time is 11:00, however, a guaranteed later departure (up to 20:00) can be arranged for a fee of 50% of the daily rate for that day but please note this is subject to no existing booking arriving that day already.A £200 refundable damage/security deposit is due 7 days before arrival, and refunded after departure.

All properties are strictly non-smoking, and do not accept hen/stag/party groups. At least one guest must be over 25 years old.

Please arrange your arrival with the property manager at least 24 hours before arrival.

Check in is from 4pm, and check out is before 11am.

Interior layout A central hallway leads to two bedrooms, living room, kitchen/diner, WC and utility room, large shower room, and family bathroom. All separate.

Extremely efficient and prompt with regard to reminders when payments were due and a very good acknowledgement response whenever I made a payment however I was somewhat confused by emails coming from different names and different domains. This worried me to the extent I phoned the main supplier to check I was dealing with a bona fide booking agency - which I was.


A warm comfortable spacious basement apartment in Edinburgh's West End conveniently located for transport and all city center amenities.
